A high-quality boat rental management software should have essential features like:

  • Online booking engine widgets that allow customers to reserve boats directly from your website
  • Features to enable and accept online payments for boat rentals
  • A centralised booking management calendar to see all reservations in one place
  • Inventory management to track all of your boats and equipment
  • Customer management tools to keep a record of everybody who books with you, automate booking confirmations and other communications, and assist in retargeting campaigns
  • Reporting dashboards to measure bookings and revenue, and understand business performance

But beyond these basics, the best solutions include features to help you grow: online travel agency (OTA) integrations, distribution networks, and upselling tools like product add-ons, combo packages, and gift cards.

1. Bókun

All-in-one booking & operations management system for boat rentals

Bókun homepage: More bookings. Better experience.

Bókun is an all-in-one operations management system for travel experience providers: tour and activity operators, attractions, and, of course, rental companies.

We’ve packed our system with everything teams need to manage daily operations and scale strategically. Bókun handles all the complex stuff so you can ditch the dreaded spreadsheets, automate boring back-office work, and spend more time on what makes your business great.

We’re a Tripadvisor brand with over 10 years of experience working with teams of all sizes, at all growth stages, helping them navigate operational mayhem so they can kickstart growth and hit new heights.

Our system comes with some of the most impressive growth drivers around — like the largest in-built distribution network, with thousands of travel industry partners. And we’re the #1 restech partner across major OTAs like Viator, GetYourGuide, Airbnb, and Civitatis.

And our system is built to scale with you, whether you’re a small marina renting paddleboards or a multi-location fleet managing hundreds of vessels.

But what teams love most about Bókun is our super-low pricing. A lot of other brands charge crazy booking fees or nickel-and-dime you on feature access. We cut that with straightforward packages — all users have access to all core features. We also have the lowest booking fees in the industry — 1% to 1.5%.

We offer a 14-day free trial (no credit card required) to test the waters with Bókun and see if we’re your best fit. But first, here’s a sneak preview of what you’ll get when you come on board.

Tools to enable direct website bookings

Bókun makes it easy to create a professional booking website so customers can make reservations with you online, in advance, from any device.

  • Our one-click website builder comes with a gallery of templates so teams can design a professional site without any technical know-how. Just plug-and-play the templates to add your own images, logos, brand colours, and more. Our websites are desktop and mobile-optimised and include pre-installed online booking engine widgets, so your site is ready to go as soon as you hit publish.
  • We offer a variety of online booking engine widgets you can add to existing sites (if you already have one and don’t need to create one with our builder). Our widgets are compatible with virtually all website builders, including WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, Joomla, and more. You can add “Book Now” buttons, calendars, product lists, and product overviews across your site pages, giving customers different options to book. And adding these to your site is as simple as copying + pasting the embed code.
  • Bókun integrates with dozens of online payment processing tools — Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Stripe, Rapyd, Worldpay, Braintree, Klarna, and more — so you can give customers a variety of payment options at checkout. This avoids those last-minute abandoned carts and lets you serve global audiences.

Bókun’s growth drivers: OTA integrations, Marketplace, & Referral Tracking

Bókun also offers a variety of tools to get your boat rentals in front of new audiences, helping you fill your booking calendar and grow your customer base.

Our system offers a wide range of OTA connections (70+!) to promote your inventory on the sites travellers use to plan and book holidays. You can sell rentals through global sites like Viator and more niche-specific sites tailored to your rentals or region. For example, if you operate sailboat charters in the Greek islands, you can connect with sailing-specific platforms or sites dedicated to Greek experiences.

Online Travel Agencies GIF

Plus, as we mentioned above, Bókun is the #1 restech partner across a variety of OTAs — we even offer premium partnerships and integrations with those names.

  • We’re a Viator Preferred Partner, which lets us offer 0% Bókun booking fees on Viator reservations and free yearly subscription checks (12, 24, or 48, depending on your package).

And we don’t cap OTA connections — you can add as many sales channels as you like and use our reporting tools to see where you win the most business.

Read more:

In addition to our OTA connections, we offer the Bókun Marketplace, where you can establish partnerships with other professionals in the travel industry: tour guides, travel agents, destination management companies, accommodations providers like hotels and resorts, attractions, educational institutions, and more. Our network contains thousands (upon thousands) of businesses, so you can easily find complementary partners.

With partnerships, you can:

  • Work with resellers who will promote your rentals to their customers and earn reservations for you.
  • Resell others’ experiences or services to earn commission.
  • Create travel packages with partners.

Bókun includes all of the tools you need to manage outreach, negotiate contract terms, and keep all of your contracts in one place. And, again, we don’t limit the number of partners you can work with — some of our customers manage 100+ contracts in our system.

To give you even more flexibility with establishing partnerships, we also offer a handy Referral Tracking feature that lets you work with any business or professional you choose. You can expand partnerships beyond the Marketplace and establish an affiliate network to earn reservations through social media influencers, travel bloggers, other businesses in your area, you name it.

The Referral Tracking tool lets you provide affiliates with trackable booking links so they can promote your rentals to their audiences, customers can easily book through their links, and you can see the source of all new bookings.

Booking management module

Bókun’s central booking calendar shows you all reservations from all sales channels — your website, OTAs, partner sites — so you can manage everything in a unified view.

This calendar also sends real-time availability updates across all connected calendars, so everything stays in sync.

This way, you don’t have to waste time jumping around a dozen and one calendars, and it saves you from accidental double bookings in the meantime.

Our calendar also includes simple tools to manage staff schedules and modify bookings or availability on the fly. Check it out below:

Booking Calendar GIF

Product & resource management

Bókun’s Experiences tab lets you create listings for all your boat rentals. The product builder walks you through the steps so there’s no guesswork, and you can even create templates from listings to quickly build out your product line.

Give your experience a short but descriptive name

Note: Viator users can also import products directly to Bókun to skip set-up in our system.

When creating listings, you’ll define big-picture details (like the names of rentals, your location, and what to bring on the day of) and add images and videos of your rentals to grab customers’ attention. You can also offer add-ons with rentals — if you want to provide customers with souvenir photos, food and beverage to take out on the water, or even just merchandise.

Then, the product builder will guide you through the steps to set availability, define pricing, and assign resources.

  • Our availability rules let you specify how people book with you. Customers can buy a day pass or rent inventory for a few hours. You’ll choose the days and time slots rentals are available, and those rules will populate your calendar. You can also set booking cutoffs if you require customers to book in advance.
  • You can define pricing in various ways. For starters, you can require full upfront payments, set a minimum deposit, or allow customers to pay on arrival. From there, you can set one flat rate or create pricing categories, offer bulk discounts, and utilise dynamic pricing to adjust rates automatically based on set rules (for example, you could add a rule to drop pricing if the booking cutoff is approaching and you still have inventory available, or increase rates during busy seasons when rentals book out fast).
  • Then you’ll set the number of resources required per listing.

Now, our inventory management module is a nice perk because it lets you track all of your physical inventory and its availability. You can add all of your boats and equipment to our system — including details such as capacities, model numbers, colours — and link equipment to listings.

This works in tandem with availability management to block bookings when all inventory is reserved.

For example, let’s say you offer kayak rentals and have 10 single kayaks and five tandems. You’d add all your kayaks and paddles to the system, link each type to its listing, and set how many paddles go with each rental. When someone books a tandem, Bókun automatically blocks one of your five tandems from other reservations.

You can read more about our inventory management module here.

CRM & customer management tools

Bókun also comes with an in-built CRM to manage your customer base and automatically send out emails to your guests.

The CRM automatically captures customer details as soon as they begin the booking process (so if they drop off, you can send out abandoned cart emails and include them in other retargeting initiatives).

It stores all customer information in a neat contact book for you, even saving details about rentals they’ve reserved or viewed, so you can learn more about who’s booking with you and your ideal audiences.

Our CRM also comes with an automated communications tool. This dispatches booking confirmations, pre-rental reminders, and follow-ups, so you don’t have to send them all manually. You can customise all of these communications, attach important documents like waivers, and then our system takes care of the rest.

In addition to these standard communications, you can power a variety of other email campaigns through Bókun. We provide email templates for review requests, upsells, and abandoned cart recoveries, but you can also add your own for things like new product announcements, newsletters, promotional offers, and more.

Pick a base for your template

Bókun also provides self-service portals for customers to manage their reservations without your team’s help. They can reschedule or cancel with a few clicks, rather than making phone calls or sending back-and-forth emails. When things change, Bókun sends a new confirmation to the customer and updates the booking on your end.

Reporting dashboards

Our solution also includes reporting dashboards to analyse bookings and revenue across various categories. You can see which sales channels or partners bring you the most business, which rentals are most popular, what times of year you’re busy vs. slow, and more.

Bókun Reports: Experience Sales

Then you can use these insights to double down on the strategies that work best for you, fine-tune your product line, and prepare for seasonality shifts.

Mobile apps (for iOS & Android)

Bókun is also available on mobile devices via our iOS and Android apps. These apps include access to the booking calendar, check-in tools with ticket scanning, and guest manifests to help staff manage field operations.

Bókun packages & pricing

You can start a 14-day free trial of Bókun to explore further before committing to a package.

After the trial, our START plan includes all core features (everything discussed above) at $49/month with 1.5% online booking fees. We offer 0% Bókun booking fees on Viator reservations, and offline bookings are always free.

We also offer two enterprise-level plans to support you as you scale: PLUS and PREMIUM. These plans include more advanced tools such as agent portals, subvendor management, an allocation manager, and Zapier. They come with guided onboarding and a yearly strategy call with a Bókun expert to ensure our platform is optimised for your growth goals.

Lastly, our Bókun App Store can help you supplement any of these plans with additional modules. Our App Store includes an advanced digital waiver solution, tip management tools, departure management, SMS messaging apps, and more.

2. Peek Pro

Peek Pro homepage: More Bookings. Happier Customers.

Peek Pro is a top-rated booking management system for the travel industry — specifically targeting outdoor adventure providers such as boat rental companies, hiking guides, zip-lining operators, ATV tours, rafting outfitters, and more.

This solution offers a complete feature set from booking management to reporting. It includes several tools to accelerate growth, such as OTA connections, a reseller marketplace, upselling tools, and, uniquely, Peek Capital to secure business financing. Users like it for its robust toolkit, ease of use, and modern look and feel.

It’s particularly appealing to boat rental providers for its advanced inventory management tool, which lets you link equipment to listings and track its availability within the system. It also offers a convenient digital waivers solution within its core toolset.

While Peek Pro has a solid reputation and an impressive toolkit, it has one pretty notable downside: expensive booking fees of up to 6% and 8%.

If you’re renting out kayaks or canoes that aren’t crazy expensive, these fees might be manageable, but for boat rental companies with larger-ticket items like pontoons or yachts, these fees can really eat into profits. You have to consider the cost of your rentals and how booking fees will impact your earnings to decide if Peek Pro is worth the investment.

3. BookingCentral

BookingCentral homepage: Online Booking Software for Boat, Jet Ski & Watersport Rentals

BookingCentral is a comprehensive booking and operations management platform built for rental, tour, and activity operators. It includes a dedicated solution for boat rental companies, with advanced tools to manage physical inventory, such as boats and equipment.

The standout feature for boat rentals is the fleet management module. This feature lets you track boat usage, automate service scheduling (like oil changes and annual inspections), and document any damage or issues that occur during rentals. You can record problems directly on orders, during check-in/check-out, or from the fleet dashboard — offering a nice way to keep all your vessels in top shape.

BookingCentral also lets you customise your check-in and check-out process however you need. You can add waiver controls, damage inspections with before-and-after photos, damage deposits, fuel charges, and whatever else you need to protect your physical assets during rentals.

Plus, the platform integrates with digital waiver solutions, partners with national insurance carriers for renters insurance, and works with BoatFix for GPS tracking so you can keep tabs on your vessels while they’re out on the water.

Despite the benefits here, two things give us pause. One, there aren’t a ton of user reviews about BookingCentral, so it’s hard to gauge how many customers they serve or what their experiences are like. Two, BookingCentral doesn’t disclose pricing online, so we don’t know how its costs compare to those of competitor systems.

Features

  • Online booking engine widgets
  • Centralised booking calendar
  • Resource management
  • Integrations with digital waiver solutions
  • Flexible pricing features with support for deposits
  • Upselling tools like add-ons & gift cards
  • Online vouchers for cancelled bookings
  • Automated communications
  • Check-in & check-out tools
  • Reporting dashboards

4. Let’s Book

Let's Book homepage: Next-Gen Boat Rental Software

Let’s Book is a boat rental management platform that’s entirely focused on boat rental businesses. The platform handles bookings, online payments, customer management, and fleet tracking — and all of the tools are built around how boat rentals actually operate.

Let’s Book includes a pretty extensive feature set: online booking widgets, a central booking calendar, digital waivers, and upselling tools for add-ons.

But its most notable feature is the “Connected Fleet” technology. You can install a piece of hardware on each boat that lets renters check out boats through an app — no physical keys needed. The engine will automatically start, and then you can track each boat’s location during the rental period. “Connected Fleet” also monitors battery voltage and engine hours so you know when maintenance is due, helping you avoid expensive repairs down the line.

The downside here is that the “Connected Fleet” hardware comes at an extra (undisclosed) cost (you have to purchase it through their partners, Qondor or Trackunit), and the initial setup can be challenging and time-consuming.

It’s also worth mentioning that Let’s Book doesn’t offer many growth tools — no OTA integrations or distribution networks to help you reach new customers beyond your own website.

Find Let’s Book reviews here.

Features

  • Online booking engine widgets
  • Online payment processing integrations
  • Centralised booking calendar
  • Flexible payment tools with support for deposits
  • Resource management
  • Customer management
  • Automated communications
  • Membership support
  • Upselling tools like add-ons & gift cards
  • Integration with WaiverForever
  • Customer check-in tools
  • Tools to sync your boat’s hardware and the rental software to track locations & engine use
  • Reporting dashboards
  • Developer API

Pricing

Let’s Book offers two plans but does not share many details on how they differ.

  • The Standard plan ($30/month with 2.5% online booking fees) is best for small and medium-sized rental businesses.
  • The Pro plan ($175/month with 1% online booking fees) is best for growing rental businesses that bring in at least $100k a year.

5. RENTALL

RENTALL homepage: Boat Rental Platform

RENTALL is a reservation management platform designed for rental businesses — primarily car rentals, but it also offers a boat rental solution.

Their solution for boat rental operators includes online booking engine widgets, a central calendar, fleet management (up to 1k boats), digital rental agreements with e-signature tools, upselling tools, reporting dashboards, and mobile apps. It’s also highly customisable, with 30+ add-ons to tailor the platform to your exact business needs.

But there are some noteworthy drawbacks here:

  • The customisation options can be a hassle to set up. Plus, reviewers report frequent glitches where things break, and they have to reconfigure the system.
  • Several reviewers also noted that critical features don’t always work as advertised, which can be frustrating when trying to run daily operations.
  • User reviews also say the customer experience offers subpar support. It can take days to hear back, and many issues go unresolved.

We include this name on our list because it’s one you’re bound to run into when comparing boat rental software. But at the end of the day, it’s not really the best for boat rental companies because it’s not built for boat rental companies. It’s a car rental software with light modifications to serve other industries.

Find more RENTALL reviews here.

Features

  • Online booking engine widgets
  • Centralised booking calendar
  • Upselling tools
  • Reporting dashboards
  • Mobile apps

Pricing

RENTALL provides a pricing calculator on its site so you can enter your business details and receive a custom quote. RENTALL also offers free demos for you to learn more about the system and receive a quote.

6. Indexic

Indexic homepage: Chart Your Course to Success with Boat Rental Software

Indexic is a booking and operations management platform built for tour operators and rental businesses.

Their solution — called aReservation — works for boat rentals and includes booking engine widgets, a central calendar, resource management, combo products, digital waivers (through aWaiver), automated communications, abandoned cart recovery, dynamic pricing, and check-in tools. They also integrate with major OTAs such as Tripadvisor, Viator, Expedia, Google, Groupon, and GetYourGuide, so you can reach customers beyond your website.

One unique feature to highlight here is their integrated renters insurance program. Indexic partners with national insurance carriers to offer renters insurance for boat, jet ski, and watersports rentals at no cost to you (renters pay the liability and damage coverage). So you can feel confident that your inventory is covered when renters have it out on the water.

Reviewers consistently praise Indexic’s customer support — the team responds quickly and handles all the setup for you, so you’re smooth sailing from the get-go. Users also say the software is user-friendly, even for staff who aren’t tech-savvy. That said, users do note an initial learning curve.

Find Indexic Reservation reviews here.

Features

  • Online booking engine widgets
  • Integrated point of sale (POS)
  • Centralised booking calendar
  • Resource management
  • Early return auto monitoring
  • Rental image captures
  • Combo products
  • Dynamic pricing
  • Integrated digital waiver solution
  • Partnerships with national insurance carriers to underwrite renters’ insurance
  • Automated communications
  • Abandoned cart recovery
  • Mobile tickets & check-in tools
  • Geofencing to keep bookings within your service area
  • Staff scheduling tools
  • Reporting dashboards

Pricing

Indexic offers two solutions: aReservation (the online booking system) and Online Waivers.

  • If you’re interested in aReservation, you must book a demo to receive a custom quote.
  • Indexic charges 15¢ per waiver signed and requires a $30/year minimum spend.

7. QMarket

QMarket Boat Rental Software homepage: Optimize every aspect of your rental business

QMarket is a “no-code marketplace builder” that lets you design an online rental marketplace. Now, it’s not boat-specific software — it’s a general rental booking platform that can be customised to suit a variety of needs (car rentals, equipment rentals, property rentals, etc.), so you can use it to create an online hub for your boat rentals.

The platform includes online marketplace builder tools, online payment processing, a central calendar with availability management, product management, customer management, automated communications, SEO and marketing tools, and reporting.

While there is some upfront legwork to build your marketplace, the QMarket site says most users can get up and running quickly. They provide templates, so you just choose your preferred layout, then customise the colours, logos, and content to match your brand. QMarket sites are mobile-responsive out of the box. They also support multiple currencies and languages if you’re operating internationally.

The “no-code” approach means, quite literally, no coding is required. You don’t need to be a pro website developer to use QMarket.

However, QMarket is really just a standalone marketplace. You get one hub where customers can book your rentals, but that’s it — there’s no OTA integrations, no distribution channels, no selling rentals across multiple sites. Everything runs through your QMarket site. So it’s not really the best solution for teams looking to grow — it’s more appropriate for teams that want a single hub for customers to reserve rentals online.

It’s also worth pointing out that QMarket doesn’t have any customer reviews, so it’s hard to verify anything they say about themselves on their site.

QMarket has not received verified online reviews.

Features

  • Online marketplace builder for direct bookings
  • Online payment tools
  • Central calendar with real-time availability management
  • Product management
  • Customer management
  • Automated communications
  • Built-in SEO & marketing tools
  • Reporting

Pricing

QMarket offers four plans:

  • The Essential plan ($59/month) includes basic tools to create and launch the initial version of your marketplace business.
  • The Professional plan ($119/month) is QMarket’s recommended plan because it lets you create a booking marketplace with your own domain.
  • The Business plan ($179/month) includes everything in the Professional plan, plus customer management tools and automated communications.
  • The Enterprise plan ($239/month) includes all business plan features and supports multiple currencies, languages, and time zones.

8. TWICE

TWICE Boat Rental Software homepage: Everything you need to make boat rental management smooth sailing

TWICE is an equipment rental management platform — think skis, bikes, kayaks, and, obviously, boats.

The platform includes a Wix website builder, booking engine widgets, a central calendar with real-time availability, product and inventory management, customer management, automated communications, customer check-in tools (with a self-check-in app), and reporting. It also offers POS and Stripe integrations to manage customer payments.

Reviewers say TWICE is super user-friendly and easy to set up, customer support is responsive and helpful, and the interface is intuitive for both staff and customers.

However, there are some cons:

  • The free version is pretty limited — you don’t get access to customer management tools, POS integrations, and other key features.
  • TWICE doesn’t disclose transaction fees, but they’re applied across all plans, and reviewers say they can quickly add up.
  • There aren’t many growth drivers here. You can sell rentals on your Wix site, but you can’t grow your distribution network with OTAs and partners.

Read more TWICE reviews here.

Features

  • TWICE online store with booking engine widgets
  • Wix website builder
  • Central calendar with real-time availability management
  • Inventory management
  • Product variations
  • Combo products
  • Customer management
  • Automated communications
  • Customer check-in tools with self check-in app
  • POS integrations
  • Integrations with TWICE payments & Stripe
  • Custom payment options
  • Support for deposits
  • Reporting
  • Webhooks & API for deeper customisations

Pricing

TWICE offers four plans:

  • The Discover plan ($29/month with transaction fees) is for teams earning less than $40k/year. It has basic tools to enable online bookings and automate customer emails, and includes basic reports. It does not include customer management tools, customisable emails, POS integrations, and many other features.
  • The Build plan ($69/month with transaction fees) is for teams earning less than $300k/year. It supports larger inventories and team sizes, comes with basic reporting + AI insights, and includes POS integrations, customisable customer emails, and simple check-in tools like barcode scanning.
  • The Advance plan ($359/month with transaction fees) is for teams with multiple locations and earning more than $300k/year. This includes full feature access and premium support.
  • The Enterprise plan ($2,000/month with transaction fees) is for large businesses with more than five locations. This plan includes full feature access, premium support, and a dedicated account manager. Twice requires an annual contract for this plan.

9. Booqable

Booqable homepage: Boat rental software that simplifies your business

Booqable is an equipment rental platform that works across industries — from party supplies to construction tools, bikes, and boats, you name it.

The platform offers a website builder with templates, online booking engine widgets (for WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace), inventory management, customer management, automated invoicing and contracts, payment processing, and mobile apps. You can track availability, set buffer time between bookings, offer flexible rental periods, collect digital signatures, and set up seasonal pricing.

Booqable gets a lot of praise for its user-friendliness and affordability.

  • The platform is easy to learn and set up.
  • The customer support team is responsive and helpful.
  • Booqable charges one flat rate across packages — with zero booking fees — and plans start at $35.

However, this platform is really only suitable for smaller teams with only a handful of boats. It can’t support teams with a larger fleet or multiple locations, the inventory management tools are pretty basic, and users say the mobile apps are lacking. And like some of the other platforms discussed above, Booqable doesn’t offer OTA integrations or a distribution network to help you earn reservations outside of your own site.

Find Booqable reviews here.

Features

  • Website builder with templates
  • Online booking engine widgets for WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace
  • Central booking calendar with real-time availability
  • Inventory management
  • Customer management
  • Automated invoicing & digital contracts
  • e-Signature tools
  • Payment processing with deposit support
  • POS integrations
  • Mobile apps for iOS & Android
  • Reporting

Pricing

Booqable offers three plans:

  • The Start plan ($35/month) offers essentials like order and inventory management, real-time availability tracking, and invoicing tools. It includes a booking page and basic reporting, and supports online payments and security deposits.
  • The Grow plan ($87/month) is Booqable’s best value plan. It includes everything in Start plus custom website integrations, product bundles, advanced reporting, and more.
  • The Scale plan ($187/month) is for large, multi-location teams and comes with all features plus API access.

Booqable also offers optional add-ons in each plan: the website builder ($24/month) and mobile POS ($12/user/month).

10. Stellar

Stellar homepage: Boost Revenue & Streamline Operations with All-in-One Boat Rental Software

Stellar is a boat rental booking platform that’s been around since 2008. It was acquired by Storable (through their Molo platform) in 2024 and is now part of the Storable Marine family of products.

The platform prioritises the customer experience, making the booking process as easy as possible. It has a “suggestion-based” system that guides customers through choosing the right boat based on their needs — like the number of people they’ll have, size requirements, and date preferences (though you can set up a variety of custom filters to direct customers to their best boat). This helps renters who might not know the difference between a pontoon and a speedboat find what they’re actually looking for.

Plus, the system is fully mobile-responsive, so customers can reserve rentals from their mobile devices — which is great for last-minute or on-the-go planners.

Stellar also makes in-person booking management easy. Dock operators can book reservations, process payments, check customers in and out, and print contracts with ease.

Stellar’s central booking calendar provides a clean timeline view of all your reservations — hourly, daily, or multi-day — in daily, weekly, or monthly formats. Other back-office tools include automated contract management, pricing controls, payment processing, customer management, inventory management (to mark boats as in-service or out-of-commission), and reporting.

Downsides here are limited growth tools (no OTA integrations or distribution network), a somewhat basic feature set compared to competitors mentioned above, and no public pricing.

As of this writing, Stellar has not received verified online reviews.

Features

  • Online booking engine widgets
  • Central booking calendar
  • Suggestions for bookers
  • Inventory management
  • Customer management
  • Automated contract generation
  • Reporting
