Online travel agencies (OTAs) like GetYourGuide are the most reliable avenues for increasing online visibility and rapidly expanding your customer base.

GetYourGuide.com receives 20 million+ monthly website visitors from 190+ countries and offers a network of over 15,000 influencers, bloggers, and travel companies for unique partnerships.

We’re a Tripadvisor company, and we partner with Viator and GetYourGuide to help tour and experience providers drive new business via travel distribution channels and digital strategies.

This guide shows you how to join GetYourGuide and use their platform to earn new bookings. Specifically, we cover:

Bókun is tour operator software with a comprehensive toolset for managing bookings, sales channels, staff, back-office operations, and customer service. Our system integrates with GetYourGuide to centralise bookings and automatically manage your availability across all OTA calendars.

Registering as a GetYourGuide supplier

GetYourGuide Supplier: Join us as a supply partner

Creating a GetYourGuide supplier account is easy and free — you can get started here.

The account builder walks you through the steps: you’ll select your company’s legal status (registered company or registered individual), fill in details about your travel experiences, provide some background on your brand, and create a unique username and password.

Your application undergoes an instant review, so you will know if you’re approved or denied within a few minutes.

Alternatively, you can connect with GetYourGuide and create an account via Bókun.

The Sales Tool tab shows all of our OTA integrations; select GetYourGuide from this list, and then our platform will direct you to GetYourGuide to create an account. The systems are automatically linked after setup.

What tours & activities can you sell on GetYourGuide?

After creating an account, you can build listings for your tours and travel experiences.

Again, GetYourGuide offers a product builder to walk you through these steps. (However, they also provide a step-by-step guide on creating listings here.)

GetYourGuide allows you to sell an array of travel experiences, including:

  • Toursbike tours, food tours, boat tours
  • Experience-based activities — hot air balloon rides, horseback rides, spa days, wine tastings
  • Sports or adventure-based activities — rafting, hiking, surfing
  • Nightlife — pub crawls, dinner cruises, musical shows or experiences
  • Attractions — museums, theatres, even city bus tours
  • Workshops — cooking classes, dancing lessons, art classes like candle making, pottery, or painting
  • Transportation services — car services, boat taxis, airport transfers

GetYourGuide has some restrictions on what you can list. For example, you couldn’t list a car service without an associated tour or driver because that’s not an “experience” — it’s a rental service.

In addition, GetYourGuide does not permit self- or mobile-guided audio tours, exploration games, or scavenger hunts.

Fees to sell on GetYourGuide

As mentioned, applying as a supply partner and joining GetYourGuide’s platform is free — but GetYourGuide takes a commission for every successful booking you earn through the site.

After your profile is reviewed and accepted, a GetYourGuide team member will email you with details on your commission level and commission rates.

These rates are based on the types of travel experiences you offer, your pricing, and your location. However, they’re typically around 20% to 30%.

So if you sell a walking tour for $60, GetYourGuide would take ~$12 and you’d earn ~$48.

Note: GetYourGuide only charges commission fees on successful bookings. If travellers cancel within the free cancellation window, GetYourGuide will issue them a full refund, and you won’t be charged for the booking.

Benefits of selling on GetYourGuide

GetYourGuide is one of the most popular OTAs for good reason:

  • It has a worldwide reach, with website visitors from over 190 countries.
  • The platform is user-friendly and requires no technical skills to learn or get started. Most users can be up and running in under 30 minutes. (They also offer one-on-one support to help.)
  • It’s not as expensive as other OTAs that charge subscription or listing fees.
  • They offer desktop and mobile apps (for iOS and Android) to monitor bookings.
  • They also offer analytics tools to explore your booking and customer history. These tools help you identify which experiences are most popular, understand booking trends throughout the year, and gain insights into your customer base. All of these insights then lend to growth strategies and product optimisation.

Tour operators benefit from selling on GetYourGuide because:

  • They can advertise their tours and travel experiences in front of millions (upon millions) of new eyes.
  • They can partner with influencers or resellers to reach new customers and earn bookings. For example, GetYourGuide works with airlines (like Emirates, EasyJet, and KLM), so you can partner with these brands and promote tours to buyers booking flights.
  • They can create packages with partners to offer more standout or enticing experiences.
